Main Characters and Their Development

• Oliver Twist - an orphan with a noble heart, constantly thrown from one trial to another by fate. Throughout his adventures, Oliver meets both cruel and malevolent people, as well as kind ones who help him. His character develops through various challenges, making him stronger and wiser.
• Fagin - an old rogue who leads a gang of child thieves. His character exemplifies greed and hypocrisy. He exploits Oliver for his own gain but ultimately meets his downfall.
• Bill Sikes - one of the most brutal characters in the novel. A professional thief and criminal, he is portrayed as a ruthless and aggressive man who stops at nothing to achieve his goals.
• Nancy - a girl from Fagin's gang, in love with Bill Sikes. Her character is revealed through her kindness and desire to help Oliver, despite her difficult fate and dangerous connection with Sikes. Her self-sacrifice becomes a pivotal moment in Oliver's destiny.
