Main Characters and Their Development

• Paulo — the main character and narrator, who embarks on a journey along the Trans-Siberian Railway to find spiritual enlightenment and overcome an inner crisis. Along the way, he confronts memories of past lives and learns to forgive himself and others.
• Hilde — a young woman who accompanies Paulo on his journey. She claims they were together in a past life and helps Paulo understand and accept his past.
• J. — Paulo's mentor, who guides him on his spiritual quest and helps him understand the importance of forgiveness and love.
