Main Characters and Their Development

• Prot – a mysterious patient in a psychiatric hospital who claims to have come from the planet K-PAX. His behavior and knowledge cause doctors and patients to question his mental state, but also to admire him. Throughout the book, he helps other patients and brings about positive changes in them.
• Dr. Gene Brewer – a psychiatrist trying to unravel the mystery of Prot. He is skeptical of Prot's claims but gradually begins to doubt his own certainty. His professional and personal relationship with Prot develops, leading to significant changes in his life.
• Patients of the psychiatric hospital – various characters, each with their own problems and stories. Interaction with Prot has a therapeutic effect on them, helping them deal with their inner demons and find hope.
