Main Characters and Their Development

• Grandfather Slyshko - an old and wise storyteller who shares stories of the wonders of the Ural Mountains with children and adults. He is the keeper of local legends and tales, including the story of the Fire-Fairy.
• The Fire-Fairy - a magical creature, a spirit of the mountains, who appears as a little fiery girl. She helps those who are pure of heart and worthy of her assistance, showing them places where precious stones and metals are hidden.
• Stepan - a young and honest worker who toils at a factory. His kindness and diligence attract the attention of the Fire-Fairy. With her help, Stepan finds rich deposits and improves his life.
• Daryonka - Stepan's wife, who supports him in all his endeavors. She also believes in miracles and assists her husband in his quests. Her kindness and faith in the best play an important role in their family life.
