Main Characters and Their Development
- Alex Stern, full name Galaxy Stern, is the central figure in the novel Ninth House. She is a young woman with a difficult past, having endured many trials. Alex possesses the unique ability to see ghosts, which makes her special and sets her apart from others. Her life before attending Yale University was filled with hardships related to drugs and the criminal world. However, given a chance to start anew, she becomes a member of the secret society "Lethe," which oversees other magical societies at the university.
