Main Characters and Their Development

• Kai: Gerda's friend who falls under the influence of the magical mirror shards, turning his heart to ice. He becomes a captive of the Snow Queen and loses the ability to feel joy and love. Ultimately, thanks to Gerda's love and devotion, Kai is freed from the spell and returns home.
• The Snow Queen: A mysterious and powerful ruler of the winter realm who kidnaps Kai and holds him in her icy palace. She symbolizes coldness and indifference, contrasted with Gerda's warmth and love.
• Grandmother: A wise and kind woman who tells Gerda and Kai stories and helps them understand the importance of love and friendship. She plays an important role in the early part of the story, inspiring Gerda to search for Kai.
• The Little Robber Girl: A robber girl who initially captures Gerda but then helps her continue her journey. She represents the idea that kindness and compassion can be found even in harsh conditions.
