Main Characters and Their Development

• Arthur Dent - The main character who returns to Earth after his cosmic adventures and discovers that the planet has somehow been restored. He tries to adapt to normal life but soon meets Fenchurch, whom he falls in love with. Arthur undergoes personal growth, finding meaning and happiness in his relationship with Fenchurch.
• Fenchurch - A mysterious woman whom Arthur meets on Earth. She has a unique ability to understand what happened to Earth and falls in love with Arthur. Fenchurch helps Arthur find a new meaning in life and becomes an important part of his world.
• Ford Prefect - Arthur's friend and a researcher for «The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy». He returns to Earth to warn Arthur of new dangers and assist him in his adventures. Ford remains a loyal friend and support for Arthur.
• Trillian - Arthur's former companion, who now lives on Earth. She plays a smaller role in this book, but her presence reminds Arthur of his past adventures and helps him realize how he has changed.
• Marvin - A depressed android who appears in the book to add an element of humor and philosophical reflection. His pessimistic view of life contrasts with the optimism of Arthur and Fenchurch.
