So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
Book Review
Douglas Adams' «So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish» is the fourth part of the famous «The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy» series. In this installment, the author continues to explore themes of absurdity and humor, which have become the hallmark of the entire series. Critics note that unlike previous books, this one focuses more on the personal experiences of the main character, Arthur Dent, his return to Earth, and his romantic relationship with Fenchurch. This gives the narrative a more intimate and human character, setting the book apart from other parts of the series. However, some critics feel that because of this, the book loses some of its dynamic and cosmic scope that were present in previous parts. Nonetheless, Adams' wit and philosophical reflections remain top-notch, making the book a must-read for fans of the series.
